MINING AND TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT

It  seems it is a policy of the company to be self sufficient in all respects, as far as possible. Accordingly they have their own infrastructure and logistics support. as per the following details :

a) Excavators - 2 Nos. (Tata Hitachi Ex 200 LC and JCB 3D Model)
b) Loaders - 4 Nos. (Ford Loader - 2 Nos. and JCB 3D Model 2 Nos. )
c) Dumpers - 26 Nos. (Ashok Leyland - 15 Nos. of 100 bhp and 11 of 174 bhp )
d) Tractors - 10 Nos. (Hindustan - 6 Nos., Mahindra 275 DI - 4 Nos.)
e) Jack Hammer (Drilling ) - 6 Nos. (Model RH 658-42)
f) Air compressors - Nos. (1 Atlas Capco and 1 Holman Portable)
g) Survey Equipment - Theodolite - No., Automatic level - 1 No.

CRUSHING , SCREENING AND BENEFICATION PLANT

The company owns three crushing and screening plants which are installed and working at two locations. We are
used to prepare cargo of sizes ranging from 0 to 100 mm. The combined capacity to process 150 MT/hr or on
average around 2000 MT (2 shifts) of bauxite per day.

We also installed Benefication plant at our Mines site which is useful to reduce impurities such as silica from the bauxite resultant we could enhance the quality of our material especially consumed by the Metal Industries. We our selves developed the design of this plant and recognised as “APPOLO”.

In this benefication process we are using water equivalent to bauxite feed and duly washing in the first stage, impurities being washed by water and in next stage again fresh water added to complete this process.

The crushing / screening and benefication plant details are as below :

1) At Daward - Ran-
One crushing / screening plant having 1200 x 300 mm Jaw Crusher and 3600 x 1200 mm triple
decker Vibrating screen, with production capacity of 75 MT/hour. We have installed 1 Appolo machine at this mine to produce washed Bauxite.

2) At Mewasa
M-330 Mine - having two units of Jaw crushers of 900 x 300 mm and 3600 x 1200 mm triple
decker, two vibrating screens, with combined production capacity of 75 MT /hour min. We have installed 2 Appolo machines at this mine to produce washed Bauxite.

TESTING LABORATORIES

This is the only mining company in the area which has got an operating and active chemical testing laboratory, located near their calcination plant at Bhatia. The laboratory is well equipped and staffed to undertake conventional wet chemical analysis as well as for rapid instrumental determination of various elements in raw bauxite and calcined bauxite.

In addition to full complement of wet chemical analysis facilities and equipment the laboratory also has the following sophisticated instruments :

  • X-Ray Analyser (XMET 920)
  • UV-VIS Spectrophotometer (Model 119)

The laboratory facilities are also supplemented by sample preparation facilities which comprise :

  •  Jaw Crusher
  • Roll Crusher
  • Pulveriser
  • Balance etc.

The above set up is useful in carrying out large number of sample analysis on daily basis, average of 10 samples being tested by wet-chemical analysis method round the clock.

PRODUCTION AND SHIPPING CAPACITY

Since we have to feed their own bauxite calcinations plants also. on dally basis, they are operating four mines (our of eight) exclusively for this purpose. The other four operating mines thus cater to export and local sale needs.

The current optimum production capacity of these four mines, at an average 40% recovery rate factor, ranges between 40 - 45000 MT/month, Hence keeping in view other demands and exigencies M/s. SCABAL can make a shipment of  35000 MT metallurgical bauxite at every 45 days interval, (35000 x 6=210,000 MT in a year).

The production and shipping capacity can be enhanced also if more areas are opened and developed.

During monsoon rainy months (June to August) the mining activity as well as Port operations remains
almost closed, hence shipments are not possible during these months.
